Jodi (Managing Director / Principal Photographer)
- I formed Hot Shots Photography in 1994 after completing my studies in photography. With minimal start-up capital and hefty competition from already established studios, the business has grown over 15 years to become the leading photographic studio in the South Eastern NSW and ACT Region. As the Principal Photographer and Managing Director, I have achieved international and national recognition from my peers, including: WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) WIPM (World Institute of Photographic Masters) The Canberra & Region Chamber of Commerce, Bonnie Babes Foundation. The Pride of Nation Foundation, and many more…..I have devoted over 10 hours per day 6-7 days a week to the growth of my business, and allocate many hours to the training of young up & coming photographers, many of whom have progressed to individual award winning status for studio, landscape, portrait and creative photography. I will continue to employ the latest state-of-the-art technology to achieve world standards of creativity, quality and professionalism. My proudest overall achievement has been the loyalty of customers, who over 15 years have continued with repeat business year after year. So much so, that countless numbers of private and corporate customers are regarded as lifelong friends. My business/occupation as a photographer has led to many personal interests being pursued and achieved, such as children, domestic animals, wildlife and travel. In 2003, a personal and long-term goal to produce a calendar and book on Humpback Whales began with my first trip to Alaska. I volunteered at the Petersburg Marine Mammal Centre, giving them access to my photographs of the summer whale migration and feeding patterns through the Alaskan Inside Passage for their research and migration patterns. I have now made 5 trips to Alaska, the 6th being this year and my stock photos for the calendar and book is near completion. I also intend to donate an amount from sales to Whale preservation and research. My natural ability to connect with kids makes me really passionate about my work with children. My clients include such organisations as the Spastic Centre and Camp Quality. I love working with children with disabilities, it enforces how fortunate I am and is extremely rewarding work when I see the results which help organisations raise funds to help children less fortunate than ourselves. A smiling face on a child is priceless
